HISTORICAL
This mansion was built in 1895. It has
two addresses: 550 Cherrier Street on the front side, and 3500 St-Hubert Street, on the lateral side.
Very few chronological information is available about the building.
One day however, an old and proud lady passing by the street explained us that she was born in that house which
used to be a small distric hospital. That's how we learnt the origin of the house.
Around 1960 a new owner, a doctor, bought the property.
He made considerable renovations and nearly turned it into a small castel, the CHERRIER CASTEL, where he settled
with his family. He kept the basement to set up his office, a space that became today the CATACOMBES.
In 1986 the mansion changed owner and became a marvelous
private home. By a fortunate approach it was turned into a Bed and Breakfast the next year.
This mansion is now shared by tourists coming from the five continents.
Since then, the interior underwent some minor transformations. The facades however was
wholly renovated and the garage rebuilt. The exterior walls were covered
with fancy pink bricks that gave the house a special cachet in this area of the city.
